Charleston Women's Wellness Center provides clear office policies so patients know what to expect before, during and after their visits. This page includes appointment scheduling guidelines, financial policies, after-hours instructions, insurance information and helpful patient reminders for care at our Charleston and Moncks Corner offices.
Financial Policies
Payment is due at the time of service. The patient's financial portion is collected before services are rendered. Patients with no insurance coverage or no proof of insurance on the date of service will be considered self-pay. Self-pay patients receive a 30% discount.
In all cases, insured or self-pay, collection notices may begin if the patient balance is not received within 90 days of notification. All unpaid balances may be sent to an outside collection agency after practice collection efforts have been exhausted. The patient will be responsible for collection costs, including court fees and attorney fees, if the practice must pursue delinquent accounts in small claims court.
Appointments
We schedule by appointment only and do not accept walk-ins. We ask for a 24-hour notice for canceled appointments. Reminder calls are provided as a courtesy only and may not be completed for every appointment.
New patients and referred patients should bring previous medical records when appropriate, especially pregnant patients, second-opinion patients or patients requesting a procedure. Patients may also arrange for records to be sent to our office before the appointment. After-Hours Policies
After the office closes, patients with an emergency can call 843-767-2121 and will be connected to the office answering service. Emergency calls will be forwarded to the on-call physician.
If a non-emergency call is put through to the doctor after hours, the patient will be charged a $25.00 fee. The answering service does not determine which calls are emergencies; calls are handled based on what the patient states. For non-emergency questions, please contact the office during regular business hours.
Appointment Health Policies
- Please follow any current office instructions given when your appointment is scheduled.
- If you have symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea or sore throat within 72 hours of your scheduled visit, please call to reschedule your appointment.
- Please refrain from bringing family members with you to your appointment unless you are under the age of 18 or need assistance.
- Please check in with the front desk when you arrive.
- Please complete as much information as possible in your chart before your appointment and upload a photo when requested.
Insurance List
We accept the following insurance companies. It is the patient's responsibility to know if their insurance company requires prior authorization. If the appropriate authorization is not obtained in our office at the time of service, the patient may be considered self-pay or may need to reschedule until authorization is obtained.
